Shir Azari is a FACTOR funded independent artist, singer-songwriter, and musical theatre actress from Vaughan, Ontario. Immensely inspired by Demi Lovato, Adele, and Kelly Clarkson, her repertoire pulls strongly from the Pop and Adult Contemporary genres, with themes of self-empowerment, self-reflection, strength, and more.

 

Her seasoned powerhouse vocals and authentic personality are captured in her music. Featuring both original and cover music that resonates with her audience, Shir hopes that her music will empower others to find confidence within themselves. Fans and friends describe her as “well-spoken, “approachable”, and “incredibly driven”, which shines through in her work. After studying Fashion Arts at Seneca College and Business Administration at Yorkville University, Shir has committed herself to pursuing music full-time.

 

“I’ve always loved performing. Being on stage is like my second home. When I wasn’t able to do it anymore due to other commitments in my life at the time, I felt like something was missing and I lost myself in this world. I tried to find something else in its place, hence my studies in fashion and business, but nothing brought me joy or passion as much as music did. Most of my performing days were when I was a teenager, and ever since graduating high school in 2011, my parents told me I had to study in post-secondary school for something else as a ‘back-up plan’. They were worried music was not going to sustain my future like an office job would. Not that they didn't believe I could do it, but because they were scared the risk was not going to lead me to the reward. It took me about seven years of post-secondary school and personal growth to realize that music is the only true path for me. Once I graduated from my program in early 2020, I told my family that I must pursue music as my full-time career. I am lost without music and need to find myself again.

Shir is building a buzz across all social media platforms with her 1500+ followers. She is currently sharing her music and her story livestreaming as a Sessions Live artist, as well as livestreaming on her social media pages. Audiences can tune in monthly to hear her voice roar with inspiring covers and originals. 

 

Shir is excited for her recently released single, Beauty From Within , a song written based on her past experiences as a victim of bullying and being judged too quickly by others. Shir's goal as an artist is to allow her music to inspire her audience to thrive as their true selves, and to not let anyone take away their sparkle.
